Joshua 1:1-13

The deliverance of Israel from Egypt is a picture of our salvation. We were slaves in bondage to sin. Sin takes us farther than we want to go, keeps us longer than we want to stay, and costs us more than we want to pay.

Israel had come out of Egypt and now they are finally at the edge of the Promised Land. Moses had sent 12 spies into the land. They returned and ten of them gave a discouraging report. They said it was beautify just like God said. They saw a cluster of grapes that took two of them to carry.
