Romans 5:19-21

Judges 13:1
“Israel did evil again” seems to stick out in this verse. This was Israel’s story from the beginning. They had an “on again, off again” relationship with the Lord. The problem at this point was idolatry. In judgement, God had permitted the Philistines to oppress the nation of Israel.

Verse 2
In these days, barrenness was viewed as a sign of God’s disfavor. The condition pictures the spiritual emptiness of Israel.
