Job 19:25-27
Job is an interesting character in the Bible. Most of us are familiar with the great trials he faced in life.
He is thought to have lived around the time of Abraham. The book of Job is thought to be the oldest book in the Bible. If not, it would be sixth book – right after the Pentateuch.
The book opens with a description of Job. It says he was from Uz, a man that lived upright, a man that feared God, and a man who sought to avoid evil. In short, Job was a man who was committed to the Lord.
Often when we consider Job, the emphasis is put on his suffering. No doubt Job has brought comfort to people facing trials. His integrity and commitment during all the loss he experienced is to be admired. He had many questions he was unable to answer, but in the midst of his pain, Job remained certain of the Lord and his relationship with him. Through all his suffering, he proclaimed, “I know my redeemer lives.”
