Luke 2:22-35
Christ is only about forty days old in this passage, and Simeon is near the end of his life. Simeon has been waiting on this.
Do you ever have to wait? I read an article about how we spend our time (assuming we live to the average life expectancy here in the U.S., which is the upper 70s. On average, here’s how you’ll spend your life.
* 4 years in a vehicle
* 2 1/2 years cooking
* 25 years sleeping
* 10 years clocked in at work
* Women may spend two years in the bathroom
* Men may spend two years waiting on the bathroom (haha)
* The article somehow figured out women would spend one year deciding what to wear
Simeon knew how to wait. He was righteous and devout – even good people have to wait. After you get saved, you’ll find that you have a lot to learn, and one of those things you learn is how to wait.
