Joshua 24:14-15
Leading up to Joshua 24:14-15, we have seen God do some powerful things as he used a man named Joshua. Before the death of Moses, God put his hand on Joshua to become the next leader of the Israelites.
We’ve read of Joshua standing before a raging river as they were moving the ark of the covenant across the Jordan river, and he placed his feet into the water. God honored his faith, and the waters walled up as Joshua led the Israelites to safety.
We read about the Israelites marching around the walls of Jericho for six days. On the seventh day, seven priests marched seven times, and on the seventh time they blew trumpets. The walls of Jericho fell, and they captured the city.
We read about what may be the most powerful prayer ever prayed, when Joshua asked for the sun and moon to stand still. he basically asked God to stop time long enough for him to finish the battle and win.
Then God spoke to Joshua and told him he was old. When God says you’re old, YOU’RE OLD. He said there were still large areas of land to be taken over. So the land was divided to the tribes.
