Isaiah 1: 19-20
The scene is a courtroom trial. The presiding judge is the Lord himself. The accused are the citizens of Judah and Jerusalem – the very people God had chosen.
However, Isaiah’s message is applicable to all who know the Lord.
Isaiah 1:1-3
Isaiah’s vision was of things that would happen through the reigns of four kings.
God had taken care of Israel all the way back to Abraham when God chose him to bring the entire nation out of bondage. He cared for them, looked after them, guided them, and met their needs. However, they rebelled. They forgot all about God and what He had done.
Doesn’t that sound like us? God has been so good to us. He has provided for us, cared for us, and comforted us. He’s given us salvation and eternal life through Jesus Christ. Yet we rebel against God and become complacent. We have no commitment for the Lord. Just sitting on a pew isn’t commitment.
