Luke 24:13-33
Verse 13 says it was on “that same day” – The day the women discovered the empty tomb and reported it to the disciples.
These two either had been present when the ladies ran to report it, or they had somehow heard. But for some reason, these two disciples decided they would leave Jerusalem and head back home to Emmaus. This village was about seven miles from Jerusalem. Seven miles probably took about 2-3 hours to walk. And as they walked, they discussed everything that had happened.
Vs 15-16
It appears that Jesus had already been walking along with them, but they were so busy talking about what went on that they didn’t notice. And Jesus’ appearance was somehow different. He “held” their eyes from recognizing Him.
